Adding Images To Your Fans Page
First, the pic has to exist somewhere on the World Wide Web; it can't be on your hard drive, and you can't put it on Goofball's server. It has to have a web address, a.k.a. a Uniform Resource Locator, or URL. This will look something like this:
http://www.yourserver.com/yourfolder/yourpic.gif
Now, you can surf till you find the pic somewhere and link to it, but beware: if you don't control it, it could change or go away. It's better to save the pic and upload it to your own web filestore. I use zyworld:

Just log on, sign up, and upoload your pic(s).
Put the complete URL to the pic in the proper block on your profile page.
If you want a pic in your signature, that's a little more complicated. Then you have to put it in the signature block of your Profile. Click on Edit My Profile, click the Edit button, and scroll down to your signature block. Now, here's the tricky part: you have to put in the proper HyperText Markup Language (HTML) tags to make it work.
<img src="http://www.yourserver.com/yourfolder/yourpic.gif">
Put the link to your pic inside the "quotes." This information is CaSe SeNsiTiVe.
Put all that in your sig block along with any text you want to appear (before or after).
Oh, yeah, and don't forget to hit the Update button!
