The Cure!

A woman went to the doctor's office where she was seen by one of the younger doctors. After about four minutes in the examination room, she burst out screaming as she ran down the hall. An older doctor stopped her and asked what the problem was and she told him her story.

After listening, he had her sit down and relax in another room. The older doctor marched down the hallway to the back where the young doctor was writing on his clipboard."What's the matter with you?" the older doctor demanded. "Mrs. Reid is 62 years old, has four grown children and seven grandchildren and you told her she was pregnant?"

The younger doctor continued writing and without looking up said, "Does she still have the hiccups?"

There were four country churches in a small TEXAS town:
The Presbyterian Church , the Baptist Church, the Methodist Church and the Catholic Church. Each church was overrun with pesky squirrels.

One day, the Presbyterian Church called a meeting to decide what to do about the squirrels. After much prayer and consideration they Determined that the squirrels were predestined to be there and they shouldn't interfere with God's divine will.

In the BAPTIST CHURCH the squirrels had taken up habitation in the baptistery. The deacons met and decided to put a cover on the baptistery and drown the squirrels in it. The squirrels escaped somehow and there were twice as many there the next week.

The Catholic group got together and decided that they were not in a position to harm any of God's creation. So, they humanely trapped the Squirrels and set them free a few miles outside of town. Three days later, the squirrels were back.

But -- the METHODIST CHURCH came up with the best and most effective solution.
They baptized the squirrels and registered them as members of the church. Now they only see them on Christmas and Easter .

    Another year has passed
and we're all a little older.
    Last summer felt hotter
    and winter seems much colder.

I rack my brain for happy thoughts,
to put down on my pad,
But lots of things that come to mind
just make me kind of sad.

There was a time not long ago
when life was quite a blast.
    Now I fully understand
    about "Living in the Past".

We used to go to friends homes,
    football games and lunches.
But now we go to therapy
    and after-funeral brunches.

    We used to have hangovers,
    from parties that were gay.
    Now we suffer body aches
    and sleep the night away.

We used to go out dining,
    and couldn't get our fill.
Now we ask for doggie bags,
come home and take a pill.

    We used to often travel
    to places near and far.
    Now we get backaches
    from riding in the car.

We used to go out shopping
for new clothing at the Mall
    But, now we never bother...
all the sizes are too small.

That, my friend is how life is,
and now my tale is told.
So, enjoy each day and live it up...
    before you're too darn old!!

    That'll be (0 replies)
