JACKSONVILLE, Fla.
- A surgeon who amputated the wrong
leg of a diabetic
and put a catheter in the wrong patient will be allowed to
resume his
medical
practice in April. The Florida Board of Medicine
agreed to
allow Dr. Rolando Sanchez to resume his Tampa practice as soon
as he
finishes a nine-month probation for the catheter incident.
Sanchez
already was on probation for amputating the left leg of a
patient
instead of the gangrenous right leg in 1995.
