This isn't a rant, but it is the best way of getting this information out to the masses.
We have been getting scattered reports from Goofballers telling us they have not been able to access the site.
We are fairly sure this is a routing problem in between some people's ISP's and our hosting center, which is in Freemont, CA. We need to gather information in order to go to our hosting company and ask them to work on a resolution.
In order for us to troubleshoot this problem effectively we need to know a few things.
- The Day, Date, and Time of the problem
- Where you are located
- Your ISP and if you are DialUp or Broadband
- The 'Ping' information
- The 'Trace Route' information
#1 should be easy enough.
For those who do not know how 'Ping Goofball' or are familiar with 'Trace Route' here are instructions.
Go to this website: http://network-tools.com/
From here, replace your IP Address with "goofball.com" (without the quote marks) and select "ping" and then hit enter. Please do the same for "trace".
